Take Time for Gratitude and Stillness

Oct 09, 2023

Welcome to Monday, for some a holiday, for others another working day.

Let it be a day of gratitude and reflection for all of us.

A day of letting go of perfectionism, and understanding that you, my friend, are good enough as you are.

Your turkey doesn't need to be "better", your mashed potatoes are fine as they are - delicious even.

Your wellness program is still going to be there if you need to take a day to rest after bustling about and cooking all day (my feet are pretty sore, so I'm looking forward to a gentle Back Care yoga practice this morning, where I'll be stretching and mostly NOT standing on my mat!).

You do not need to "work off" your dinner last night, or "earn" your dessert tonight.

You are worthy, you are good enough just as you are.

Perfect doesn't exist. Author Julia Cameron stated that "perfectionism is not a quest for the best. It is a pursuit of the worst in ourselves, the part that tells us that nothing we ever do will be good enough - that we should try again."

Let go of this idea that you aren't enough.

You. Are. Good Enough.

Take a moment to be still.  Place your hands over your heart. Feel that steady rhythm.

Know that every beat tells you in that stillness, "You are good enough."

Feel the gratitude you have for every cell in your body begin to overtake any thoughts of perfectionism or "not good enough".

Rest in the gratitude and stillness knowing that you are good enough, you are wonderful enough, you matter.

Every single day.

Cheers to your good health,

Meg
