Monday Motivation - Be Deliberate

Happy Monday! It's a new week and for some, a Canadian Victoria Day Weekend holiday.

I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you to be deliberate.

How you do one thing is how you do everything, so let's look at how you will have today.

Is it a holiday for you? Will you then allow yourself to have that holiday and not work? Or will you be distracted by this, that and the other?

Many of us are not completely present when we are doing things, which creates a scattered result.

We end up doing housework while thinking about work emails, and cooking dinner.

We hold conversations with loved ones while thinking about something else.

We end up here and there, while never actually being here OR there.

And when the day is done, we realize that we haven't accomplished anything fully, and we didn't get to enjoy our day.

So here is your reminder to be deliberate.

Be present.

If you're doing housework, do the housework and focus on that.

If you're answering work emails, set a timer and answer your emails. Do only that.

When being with loved ones, be present and actually pay attention. Put down the devices, really look at them, hear them, hold space for them.

Make meaningful times with them.

At the end of the day, not only will you find that you've accomplished tasks more effectively, but you'll have better enjoyed your day.

In our hustle culture, we think that multitasking and looking forward will get things done and help us move the needle forwards.

Not the case.

Be slow. Be deliberate. Be present.

This is where the magic is. Where the abundance is.

Where the joy and fulfillment is.
