Technique Tuesday: Sufi Grinds

Jul 11, 2023

Well hey, friend! Welcome to another Technique Tuesday post. Make sure to sign up for our emails to get these delivered to your inbox each week!

Let’s continue our Technique Tuesday series where we look at Sufi Grinds, sometimes also called seated spinal circles depending on the setting you are in. These are great movements to help mobility and flexibility in the spine, hips and low back. The great thing is that these are suitable for almost everyone - even if you have back pain, or have a hard time getting down to the floor, you can do these on a chair or even on a couch, provided you are stable on that surface. If you are in acute pain, I would recommend not doing this until your pain has subsided, and of course, always talk to your doctor, primary care physician, physiotherapist or another doctor if you have any health concerns or questions about the suitability of this movement for your body.

This is a series of videos where each video shows different modifications to help you find a comfortable fit for your body - remember, all bodies are different, which means our movements will look and feel different, too! **Hint: for videos with closed captioning, see this link here: https://vimeo.com/823927288?share=copy

Keep coming back as we journey through different movements with modifications so that you can find the best fit for your body at any time, and look at last week's video for more.
