Savasana for Busy People: How to Relax When You Can't Get Comfortable
Aug 15, 2026Think Savasana (Corpse Pose) means lying flat on the floor and forcing yourself with all your might not to move?
Not at all.
If lying flat makes your back ache, your neck feel strained or your mind race, there are many ways to make Savasana more comfortable—and more relaxing.
In today's How-To, I'll show you a simple supported Savasana variation using yoga props to help your body feel more supported so you can truly rest.
Why try a supported Savasana?
✅ Helps your body relax more completely
✅ Reduces tension in your back and hips
✅ Supports your neck and spine
✅ Encourages slower, deeper breathing
✅ Makes relaxation more comfortable for many bodies
Remember...
• Comfort is the goal.
• Support your body with props if you have them.
• Let your breathing slow naturally.
• You don't have to lie perfectly still to benefit.
Myth vs. Reality
Myth: Savasana only "counts" if you lie flat on the floor without props.
Reality: The most beneficial Savasana is the one that allows your body and mind to truly relax. Props can make all the difference.
Remember...
We don't force your body into the movement—we fit the movement to your body.
